Located on Chicago’s Southeast Side, iStorage at 3940 E 106th St serves the East Side and South Deering neighborhoods with straightforward self-storage near you. This facility sits just west of the Indiana border and is easily accessible from S Torrence Ave and I-90. Its location makes it a practical option for nearby residents, small businesses, and anyone in need of extra space close to home.
Living in the city often comes with limited storage, especially in older buildings where basements and closets only go so far. Customers here use their units to store everything from family keepsakes and seasonal decorations to business files and boxed-up supplies. With indoor access and climate-controlled options, this facility is especially popular with long-term renters looking for consistent, secure storage without the hassle of distant suburban alternatives.
All units at this location offer climate-controlled storage, helping protect your belongings from moisture, heat, and cold throughout the year. These units are ideal for things like musical instruments, electronics, upholstered furniture, and anything that might react to extreme temperatures.
The facility features ground-level access and a simple layout that makes it easy to find your unit and move items in and out. Security measures include gated access with keypad entry, perimeter fencing, and video surveillance. The building is well lit, and indoor units provide an added level of privacy and protection from the elements.
Availability of unit sizes varies by location. Typically, storage units come in three categories:
Small storage units (5x5, 5x10, 5x15) – These are big enough to hold a few boxes and smaller furniture pieces, like bookshelves or end tables.
Medium storage units (10x10, 10x15) – These units can store up to two bedrooms' worth of furniture. Mattresses, dressers, and large boxes can usually fit.
Large storage units (10x20, 10x25, 10x30) – These are ideal for storing furniture from a small house or multi-bedroom apartment. Large appliances, sofas, and storage totes can be stored safely.
If you need help choosing a storage unit size that fits your needs, check out our size guide or talk to a storage specialist at your local facility.
