I am a neighborhood resident and have been for some time. I have utilized the St Johns location over several stretches of time and on several occasions. I live in a condo with pretty cramped space, and so external storage will likely be a long term need for me. Given that, and for the reasons below, I am likely to be a long term customer, and I definitely recommend the place..
The St Johns Northwest Storage location is a top-notch facility, It is well run by Dan, who keeps things clean, secure, and well-managed. Those elements cannot be underestimated in how far they go to provide confidence when entrusting a storage place with valuable stuff. The approach to managing and maintaining the place creates an environment that discourages theft and other nefarious activity, and for those who know St Johns you realize how important this is. So kudos to Dan. He’s always been friendly, available, helpful, and willing to go the extra mile for his customers.
The only thing to watch out for is that the place is prone to random and sometimes significant rent increases once your are in. Their pricing — and some good deals — can be had online, which is super helpful, but it seems like they raise rent pretty quickly to get any savings back. However, when I expressed concern over a pretty substantial rent increase they (Dan and Skylar) were willing to talk to me about it and come up with some solutions. Kudos to them for doing that in an age of pricing algorithms and corporate profit motives. They really do offer a personal, honest, and friendly service.
The set up to get in and the auto-pay options are really helpful too. You have to carry insurance, and they offer it for a reasonable price, so that’s useful too.
